Ive had those while traveling to Morocco to visit my in-laws. They are very tasty and popular! I cant recall the name either lol.
Well, the first sweet is called "Jalebi" in India ;)Don't know it;s arabic name :P

Yesss jelebi's :D rene I promise to find out the name for it in arabic I can get the saudi name for it if that will help :D next time I will take pictures of it being made; its just that I didn't bother the man because he looked so into what he was doing lol :)
Hello there Radia, cool blog if I may say so. In Arabic we call them z'labiya. not much of a difference =]I personally prefer the orange ones over the brown ones. yummy, hungry now!!!

Some people call it 'Mshabak' .. especially here in Hejaz in Saudi Arabia :D and they are yummy :D
in iraqi and syrian culture thay are called zalabiya (za lah bee yah)
the bottom ones called baklawa :)
salaam alikoum :]in algeria we call the top ones zlebiya and the bottom ones baklawa but our baklawa is different, we call that one baklaw t3a suriyah (syrian baklaw)..wow..i just said baklawa 5 times lol xx
